Tyler Perry apparently believes in the mantra go big or go home, or so it seems after pictures of a sprawling mega-mansion the award-winning director is building for himself in the Atlanta area surfaced online. The breathtaking view has almost everyone on social media in awe of the property’s beauty.
Above Home shared on their Instagram that the “Alex Cross” star’s new home is “situated on 1,000+ acres and features approximately 40,000 square feet of living space with eight bedrooms & 12 bathrooms and reportedly cost $100+ million to build.”

Fans online were stunned by the sight of the 52-year-old’s new residence, including one Instagram user who quipped, “That’s not a home that’s a compound.”

Several online users saw Perry’s home as inspiration, including one fan who wrote, “This is kinda motivation to me I want a giant home like this one day.” “A black man wow,” chimed another person. A third fan commented, “Crazy… That’s a lot of house! How much are your taxes?? Yikes!”
Before this massive home improvement, Perry bought a piece of land in 2007 for $9 million , where he built a 30,000-square-foot house. He ultimately sold it in 2016 for $17.5 million. That person–reportedly not a celebrity–received $15 million when he sold it to veteran comedian and longtime television show host Steve Harvey.
Perry was officially recognized as a billionaire by Forbes in 2020, with a net worth of $1 billion at the time. His fortune was divided between $300 million in cash and investments, $320 million from his catalog of movies, shows, plays, etc., $280 million for his 330-acre Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, $60 million for his BET+ equity stake, and $40 million in homes and toys.
